In New York, Mayor Nardella meets fellow de Blasio
Institutional meeting with the Mayor of New York Bill de Blasio for Mayor of Florence Dario Nardella and the Deputy Mayor for International Relations Nicoletta Mantovani, during the mission to the Big Apple to promote cultural exchanges and investments to entrepreneurs and local investors.
During the meeting with de Blasio, the Mayor reminded all artistic and cultural ties that bind centuries Florence with New York, but also those that occurred in recent years, not least the Florentine exhibition last year of Jackson Pollock, but also the international vocation of Florence, existing in the Medici era and rafforzatasi during the government of Mayor Giorgio La Pira, who established the Mediterranean Talks during the Cold War.
"Taking up the message La Pira - said the Mayor Nardella inviting officially de Blasio - this year will take place in Florence the conference 'Unity in Diversity' which will bring together the world's cities and towns that are experiencing conflict situations to make a contribution to dialogue between peoples and international détente ".
Among the various events of the Mayor and Councillor Nardella Mantovani in New York, there was also a meeting with Peter Madonia, Vice President of the Rockefeller Foundation, and with representatives of the Columbus Citizens Foundation to strengthen relations and promote initiatives together.
