CEI-Florence 2015: is 3 young Florentines the logo chosen
It is the work of three young creative Florentine – Zeno Pacciani, Francesco and Andrea Minari Rate – that a few months have joined in a "creative farm" under the name of Borgoognissantitre, which is also the address of their study, the winner of the logo competition organized by the Italian Episcopal Conference for the National Congress to be held in Florence in November 2015.
"The logo we designed - says Zeno Pacciani - is the result of various brain storming on the five key words that the Committee had proposed: humanism, Church, Florence, participation, Jesus Christ. From these five words we started with a series of sketches in which we have tried to represent them and connect them in various ways, until you get to what we thought was the best result ".
The stretch very simple, almost calligraphic, both the design and the writing is an aspect that kept very: "We wanted to bring the idea of simplicity, Coincidence, of humanity: something that would give the impression of being drawn and written by hand, although in reality to produce the logo in vector format, as was required by the notice, we had to work on computers ".
The reading of the signs is really immediate: "The arrows represent the Church, that for us Florentines also identifies with the Cathedral dome. A Church that embraces Christ, represented by the cross, and at the same time a Church that 'out' to the outside, to the suburbs, as always remembers Papa Francesco ".
The choice of colors is not random: the predominant colors only the red, which is also the color of Florence, and the gold of the resurrection: but the arrows have all the colors of the liturgical calendar, to represent the participation of the people of God in time and space, "Here and now". The victory of the competition for them has a special flavor: "We had made other attempts, but this is the first that we win. And we are particularly happy, Florentines, to be able to link our work to such an important event that will take place in our city ".
The choice of the logo has also seen a passage through social networks, where the ten finalists were subjected to judgments and comments.
