Festival of Peoples: Odeon sold out for documentary flood '66

imageThe Mayor of Florence, Dario Nardella, participating last Sunday at the Festival dei Popoli, dividing his time between the Cinera Odeon and the Florence Marathon, presented the documentary on the floods of 1966, "Florence, November '66 ", shot in 1966 da Mario Carbone, class 1924, present at the screening, and found in the Festival of Peoples, the documentary film festival that celebrates the 55th edition of these days in Florence.

For the occasion, the Odeon cinema has sold out.

Nardella said “in 2016, on the occasion of the celebrations by 50 years of the flood in Florence, invite all the 'Mud Angels', then twentysomethings, from around the world took a backpack, a train and came to Florence to save this city. This documentary with rare images, the voice of Albertazzi and written by Pratolini, is an amazing document of our history. To celebrate the 2016 I would like to help to restore the film Coal and bring to light. I hope to do in the next 24 months as well as many other projects that will support such concern cinema. Is in fact a fiction programming that will tell the Florence of the flood and then a partnership with the State Archives and many other institutions that will provide pictures and documents that can tell the time of Florence ".
