Special gift of the Florentine church of Pope Francis

This morning at the end of the General Audience in St. Peter's Square, Archbishop of Florence, Cardinal Giuseppe Betori delivered to Pope Francis a special edition of the Gospels and precious Florentine.

Con of Mons. Timothy Verdon, Director Office of Sacred Art and Cultural Heritage Ecclesiastical and Deacon Alexander Bicchi, that have dealt with the search of images for publication; the publisher of Mandragora, Mario Curia; Penko and artists Paolo Gabriele Maselli, who created the bas-relief and the binding of the cover.

L'Evangeliario, which contains the text of the Gospels proclaimed on Sundays and solemnities of the liturgical year, is enhanced by the many images of works from the great history of the art of Florence and its territory.

A special edition of the publication was also made for the Cathedral, while the other copies were donated by the Archbishop to all parishes in the course of the pastoral visit.
