Twice celestial reconfirm the fight Pazzi-Medici

volta celeste san lorenzoWhat I tell you today concerns two Florentine monuments, the Old Sacristy of San Lorenzo and the Pazzi Chapel in the cloister of the Basilica of Santa Croce, or two frescoes, twice stellate, not similar but worse, identical.

This is due to the fact that the two basilicas had two different families as "patrons", San Lorenzo, the Medici and the Pazzi to Holy Cross.

Now the latest studies carried out during the recent restorations at the end of the year eighties of the last century, have shown that the painting in the dome of the Old Sacristy is the astrological sky visible on the day Florence 4 July 1442.

Probably painted to "fix" and document the date of arrival in Florence of Rene d'Anjou, ousted from the throne of the Kingdom of Naples usurper Alfonso of Aragon.

It seems that the doctors wanted to capture the prestigious event probably as the ruling family to launch a political message, that the Medici in Florence were the same grade of Anjou, then the rulers.

For the Pazzi, who entertained close relations with Anjou friendship and favor, the seal of friendship relations as the reaffirmation of antagonism against the Medici.

It is demonstrated by the fact that the fresco in Santa Croce was built a dozen years later than that of San Lorenzo.
